Microsoft Security

Get full value from Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.

Many organizations already pay for strong Microsoft security tools but never fully configure or monitor them. We deploy, tune and operate them as part of a managed security service.

Overview

Licensed is not the same as protected.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Enterprise plans include powerful security capabilities. Out of the box, many of them are disabled, set to report-only or generate alerts nobody reviews.

Simba Cyber configures these tools against current guidance, connects them into one investigation workflow and monitors them through our managed detection and response service.

  • Microsoft security features you already pay for, actually turned on
  • One investigation workflow instead of several consoles
  • Monitoring and response by people who understand the tools
  • Clear guidance on which licenses are worth adding

Licensing and availability

Feature availability depends on your Microsoft subscription, product plan and any add-on licenses.

Some capabilities require tenant eligibility, specific configuration or supported deployment environments.

Several services, including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud plans and Copilot Studio, include consumption-based charges billed by Microsoft.

Preview features can change and are not recommended for production use without review. We identify preview status in our recommendations.

We do not publish Microsoft prices. Licenses are purchased from Microsoft or your licensing provider, and we confirm current entitlements before proposing implementation.

Questions

Common questions

Is Microsoft Defender good enough on its own?

Microsoft Defender is a capable security platform. The difference comes from configuration, tuning and having people monitor and respond to what it finds.

Which Microsoft 365 plan do we need?

Microsoft 365 Business Premium is a strong starting point for organizations up to 300 users, combining Defender for Business, Defender for Office 365 Plan 1, Entra ID P1 and Intune. Larger organizations or those needing advanced capabilities may need E5 or add-ons. We recommend plans based on your risks, not the largest bundle.

Where is Microsoft Sentinel managed now?

Microsoft Sentinel is available in the Microsoft Defender portal, and Microsoft is retiring the Azure portal experience by March 31, 2027. We deploy new workspaces in the Defender portal.
