Licensing and availability

Feature availability depends on your Microsoft subscription, product plan and any add-on licenses.

Some capabilities require tenant eligibility, specific configuration or supported deployment environments.

Several services, including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud plans and Copilot Studio, include consumption-based charges billed by Microsoft.

Preview features can change and are not recommended for production use without review. We identify preview status in our recommendations.

We do not publish Microsoft prices. Licenses are purchased from Microsoft or your licensing provider, and we confirm current entitlements before proposing implementation.

Common questions

Do we need Microsoft 365 E5 for Purview?

Not necessarily. Business Premium and E3 include manual labeling, email and file DLP, retention and audit. E5 or the E5 Compliance add-on adds automatic labeling, advanced DLP, records management, Insider Risk and premium eDiscovery. We help you decide which capabilities justify the cost.

Will labels and DLP slow staff down?

They should not, if designed well. We start with a small number of clear labels, use policy tips before blocking and tune policies based on real activity.

Does Purview make us compliant with HIPAA or GLBA?

Purview provides tools that support compliance. Meeting a regulation depends on your policies, processes and how controls are used day to day. We help you design and evidence that program.
